How do you get light blonde highlights on dark brown hair with an OTC product?

Which product is best for getting a light result on dark hair? How do you get light blonde highlights on dark brown hair with an OTC product?
you have to be really careful with that, I'm a hair dresser and I have seen some really ridiculous things happen to people using OTC hair color. I would recommend going professional if you have dark hair. Herbal essences is a decent one, i'd just be very very very careful! How do you get light blonde highlights on dark brown hair with an OTC product?
you can use XTREME or any other bleaching products. Leave it on for an hour an a half. It'll turn light.
A fast, free way to do this is to put some lemon juice in a bowl, take a small paintbrush and wipe the lemon juice where you want the highlights. Trust me...this works...I have done it before...After about 20 minutes take a shower.....Blow dry it and there you have it...Blonde highlights..Hope it helps! :)
I have dark brown hair and was expecting to get light brown highlights .. when in fact the highlight came out blonde when I used .. Granier Color Breaks!!!
loreal is best for the highlight.
You may have to do a 2 step process. Strip the colour and use a toner.
john frieda -beach blonde
I wouldnt try it at home. With dark brown hair, it is very hard to get a nice looking blonde without the proper chemicals and toners. If you dont have the right mixture for your hair, and you bleach it without a toner or the right colour, you will end up with one of two things: fried yellow hair, or bright orange/red hair. Not to mention a high likelyness of it bleeding into the rest of your hair resulting in a spotty look. Please go to a professional. Ive seen too many ppl try to save money by doing it themselves and ruining their hair. The salon I work at charges 40$ an hour for colour correction, starting at two hours. Or your choice of colour foils starting at 25$. If you want to save money, go to a salon.
get loreal chunking kit.

they come in many colors or get those extreme blonding kits.

read the instructions.

it's safe, easier than those more complex blue kits (that remove color for blonde dyes)

and loreal's chunking kit and the total blonde so far don't dry your hair out so bad that if you stand near someone smoking a fire doesn't break out.

but chunking kit from loreal (i know i know i said that already) works best... less mess more fun colors and your hair won't feel like it's been violated.
Take it from someone who's been there...

Go to the hair dresser... doing it yourself you'll only regret it..

yes its cheaper to try and do it your self.. but you won't be happy with the results. spend the extra and get it done properly...

You know your worth it!!
