Why did dark blonde hairdye turn my light blonde highlights copper?

I bleached chunks of my hair 2wice in the last month. The highlights came out really yellow (fake looking) so i decided to dye them a 'dark blonde' ( i used herbal essences Honey Fusion No.26) to make them look natural and to tone them down a bit. Instead its just made my hair this weird blonde/copper colour which i just hate! Would a blonding shampoo get rid of the copper tones? According to the packet it was supposed to come out looking like a natural blonde kind of colour but it didnt! Why did dark blonde hairdye turn my light blonde highlights copper?
Normally you are supposed to wait at least 4 to 6 weeks before you add another color to your hair. It gives the color time to fade a bit and your hair time to grow out so you dont have problems with the colors counteracting each other. You can buy something called RGC at Sally beauty supply that will help take the brassiness out of the haircolor. Maybe that would help it some. Otherwise I would suggest you go to a salon and have them work on the color for you.Why did dark blonde hairdye turn my light blonde highlights copper?
a.) you used a box color. = no good.

b.) always seek a pro.

c.) it was the pigment in the color. a blonding shampoo wont work. you have already deposited color on to it the hair, it wont lighten back up until it fades or you have a stylist do it.
