Can I dye my dark blonde highlighted hair to chocolate brown?

I currently have light brown hair with blonde highlights, so on top it's a dark blonde colour but underneath it's a light brown colour and today I bought a chocolate brown hair dye which I am planning on using tomorrow. Will it turn all my hair chocolate brown or just some of it? BTW i have dyed my hair so many times before
