Dying my hair red from Brown with blonde highlights?

I am planning on dying my hair fully dark red.

I currently have dark brown hair with blonde highlights but Ive been told that the blonde highlights could turn pink.

Would I have to wait for my current hair colour to fade?Dying my hair red from Brown with blonde highlights?
No. Fading is not the best thing.

Is the brown natural or tinted. (Dye is for fabrics, you know) You will need to make your hair all one level, or at least the same porosity. The bleached sections will absorb colour faster, so may turn darker. Because they don't have much colour in them, they may appear brighter than the rest which have some darker brown in them, so your red will appear duller and deeper in the rest of your hair.

Probably the best is to remove the artificial colour (if it is tinted) so that your hair is all the same level. Then you can use the deep dark red you want without having anything else interfering. You would use a colour remover, not a bleach please! If you used a dye, then there probably isn't anything that will get it out. If it is natural brown, then you may want to lighten it slightly to get the darkness out of it, and then colour it red. At any rate, you will need a filler and something to even out the porosity.

While this is not a complicated process (you just do one step at a time), it can be time-consuming, and you need to watch out for a few things. There are things that might go this way or that -- you won't know until you do it -- so you would need a whole shelf full of the necessary products. You will be better off to have a professional hair colourist that does corrective colour work do this for you since they have the training, the skill, the experience, and the products for this job. You don't want to experiment on yourself.Dying my hair red from Brown with blonde highlights?
