How do you keep blonde highlights looking bright and shiny?

I've been getting blonde highlights for a couple years now and I love how it always looks the first day I get it done but almost the next day its not as bright. I know it will naturally fade but I'd like to know which shampoos/products work the best for keeping highlights shining through. Thanks for the help! How do you keep blonde highlights looking bright and shiny?
water molecules makes ALL hair look dull, the only reason that coloured or bleached hair looks so bright in the first week is because the water deposits that stick to the hairshafts were knocked out by the chemicals in the colourants but as you start to wash your hair again in water then those deposits re-enter the hairshafts and will make it look dull again. try using toners like Born blonde: http://www.alltoiletries.com/shared/cate鈥?/a> shampoos and conditioners with violet hues added like Joico: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Joico-Color-Endu鈥?/a> http://www.amazon.co.uk/Joico-Colour-End鈥?/a> and styling products with violet hues added like Goldwell: http://www.hairretail.com/goldwell-color鈥?/a> http://www.hairretail.com/goldwell-color鈥?/a> http://www.hairretail.com/goldwell-color鈥?/a>How do you keep blonde highlights looking bright and shiny?
To avoid fading, do not wash your hair the first 1 or 2 days after getting it done. Also, when you wash your hair, make sure you are using the coolest water that you can tolerate. Keep hair out of the sun by using dew rags or hats and if you are going to be exposing your hair, use a sunblock product for hair only (Redken has a line of products). Salt water, heat, sunrays, chlorine all contribute to fading hair color.
It won't be the colour that's changing so quickly but the way your hairdresser blow drys it to make it so sleek and shiny, try using the same professional products and ask him/her for tips.

Longer term the very best shampoo and conditioner for blonde highlights is Aveda BLUE Malva - it totally eliminates any brassy tones and keeps them light and bright.
Get some hair toner!

i've used those shampoos for blonde hair and they don't seem to do anything, but toner is the best thing i've found.

They sell it in drugstores near the hair dye products, it doesnt contain any chemicals but it restores your highlights to how they were when you first had them done, and takes out any brassy tones
ok i am gonna show my age here....but when i was a teen in the 70's there werent a lot of customized products out on the market

like you see today...jeez i could spend 5 hours in the shampoo/beauty isle....sometimes too much choice leaves you more lost than no choice. but anyways here is what we did:

once a week pour a flat beer (any kind will do) over your washed wet hair...work it in thouroughly then put your reg. conditioner and rinse like you normally do..it really does make your hair shiny.. and for inbetween days, lemon juice is the age old blonde trick....cheap, plentiful....squeeze your own or buy the concentrate.. again....put it on right before conditioner....or if u are laying out tanning, put some in a squirt bottle diluted with about half water and spritz your hair with it while out in the sun.....it speeds up the lightening process...lemon is acidic however so be sure to not scrimp on buying a conditioner that works good for you....buy cheap bread, generic soda or blank cd's but NOT cheap hair conditioner...so there it is....hope it helps..oh yes one more thing...if you use fresh lemons.....throw the left over lemon into the garbage disposal if you have one....it deoderizes it good and makes your kitchen smell like fresh lemon.....
i use redken shampoo and conditioner which is formulated for blonde/highlighted hair the conditioner has a blonde toner in it and it takes away the dullness it does cost it is 拢12.00 for each but a bottle can last ages and thats with an every other day wash ...hope this helps..ps i get it from my salon
Tresemme Blonde shampoo %26amp; conditioner!

I used to have blonde highlights and I always used them and they kept my highlights bright and shiny.

Hope this helps :o)
trevor sorbie blonde range is great, use it all the time and it makes your hair really shiney
put lemon juice in your hair, stand in the sun for 3-4 minutes and wash out! it works brilliantly.....
